Weekend Review

With the weekend fast approaching we have the rescheduled Scottish Cup 4th Round fixtures which were called off last week. There are some cracking fixtures in the east and west regions respectively,

In the McBookie.com Super Premier Division there is;

Pollok v Auchinleck Talbot – Pollok will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games, when they entertain Auchinleck Talbot at Newlandsfield in what should be a hotly contested match.

Cumnock v Glenafton – Townhead Park will welcome the League and Cup winners for league action. Cumnock are coming off a 5-1 defeat to local rivals Auchinleck Talbot. Glenafton had a free week last week as their game at Clydebank was postponed.

Largs Thistle v Irvine Meadow – Largs play host to Irvine Meadow at Barrfields in an aim to keep pushing for promotion. Medda boss Brian McGinty will want to improve on last weeks 1-0 defeat at home to Cumbernauld.

Petershill v Shettleston – Willie Paterson’s Peasy side host Shettleston at New Petershill Park. The league leaders will want to extend their lead at the top and continue their search for the promotion play offs at the end of the season.

Renfrew v Larkhall – New Western Park hosts this league fixture, with both teams looking to continue 2018 with 3 points to their respective causes.

Ayrshire District League.

Maybole Juniors v Whitletts Victoria – Maybole host a Whitletts team who have the buzz of Adam Forsyth signing for the club. New Whitletts manager Jamie Grierson will be hoping for 3 points for his new club.

Muirkirk v Ardrossan Winton Rovers – Kevin Muirhead will be hoping to continue his sides good form against Winton Rovers, who come into this game on the back of a defeat off of Irvine Vics.

East Kilbride Thistle v St Rochs – K-Park plays host to an intriguing ecounter. Ek come into this game with a win over Lochee United. St Rochs will hope to keep to their unbeaten run going after drawing against Neilston at James McGrory Park last week.

Blantyre Victoria v Neilston – Blantyre host a Neilston team looking to build on a positive draw against St Rochs last week and get closer to the promotion play offs.

Lesmahagow v Thorniewood – Lesmahagow welcome Thorniewood to Craighead Park looking to get another 3 points to kickstart their season. Thorniewood will be looking to add to their solitary point at the basement this season.

Rossvale v Glasgow Perthshire

New Huntershill is the venue for Rossvale to continue their promotion push against Perthsire, they will be looking to bounce back after 3-0 defeat to Premier Division side Pollok.

Shotts Bon Accord v Port Glasgow – Shotts play Port Glasgow at Hannah Park, looking to get another 3 points for their league campaign, Port Glasgow will always fancy themselves though.

Yoker Athletic v Benburb – Yoker entertain cross river neigbours Benburb at Holm Park, comint off of an impressive 2-1 win over Whitburn in the Scottish Cup last week.

Central District 2nd Division

Bellshill Athletic v Carluke – Bellshill will be looking to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat to east side Sauchie last week, Carluke will be hoping for 3 points also.

Lanark v Ashfield – Ashfield are looking to maintain good form against Lanark on Saturday, Paul Maxwell and co. Will be fired up for this one

Royal Albert v Johnstone Burgh – Albert will be looking to maintain there promotion push with another 3 points!

Vale of Clyde v Dunipace – These two teams will be looking for three points in what seems to be a feiry contest.

West Of Scotland Cup

Ardeer v Greenock – Greenock boss Tommy Molloy will be hoping to turn his sides fortunes around with a win away down in Ayrshire,

Craigmark v Cumbernauld – Cumbernauld will be looking to go off last weeks 1-0 win against Irvine Meadow with another down in Ayrshire.

Dalry v Darvel – Merksworth park will be hoping to get this one on as they havent had a game there since August!

Kirkintilloch Rob Roy v Irvine Victoria – Ayrshire league high flyers Vics will be hoping to continue a fine season against premier big guns Rob Roy at Guys Meadow

Lugar v Clydebank – Lugar will be hoping for a dream cup win against a struggling bankies side.

St Anthonys v Annbank – Mckenna park will play host to a game which looks to be a cracker!

McKim adds Hopewell to Burgh Squad

New Johnstone Burgh gaffer Jamie McKim has signed his first player for the team in attacking midfielder Stephen Hopewell. Stephen has experience at junior level playing with Bellshill and Craigmark Burntonians. Stephen will be a welcomed addition to the squad and provide some healthy competition.

GoalmouthScramble wishes Jamie, Steven and all at Johnstone Burgh all the best with the move and hope that they can get out their current state of affairs! Mon the Burgh!

Scottish Cup 4th Round Preview

With the magic of the Scottish Cup returning this weekend, teams, players and fans will all be hoping for a fairytale victory that will bring the hopes of lifting the cup in May ever closer

This Fourth Round draw has brought some fantastic ties including;

Cumnock v Auchinleck Talbot. A game where every neutral will be looking. Make sure that you keep an eye on this one! Always Feisty.

Kirkintilloch Rob Roy v Kennoway Star Hearts. West meets East, as two very good and energetic teams come head to head at Guys Meadow should be goals galore here with Kennoway coming off of a 5-5 draw at Linlithgow.

Kilsyth Rangers v Carnoustie Panmure. Again West meets East. In what could be a season marred by events off the field, Kilysths cup run has been a god send giving something for the fans to get excited about! Be sure to get along to Duncansfield and cheer them on!

Rutherglen Glencairn v Bo’ness United. These two teams lock horns in the cup and not for the time in recent years, this tie looks to be a cracker. Make sure and dont miss out!

Hurlford v Haddington. Hurlford are looking to be just along the road in May at Rugby Park, Haddington go into the tie with confidence given their league postion, but Hurlford will be hoping they can get through the tie with relative ease.

Rossvale v Pollok. Rossvale will be hoping to upset the apple cart and knock the southside giants out of the cup. Lok fans will be hopeful of a win and will be hoping to see new signing David Gormley make his debut on Saturday. Be sure to keep an eye on events at New Petershill Park!

Jeanfield Swifts v Beith. 2016 winners Beith travel east to play East Super League dwellers Jeanfield, they go into the tie confident with a convincing win over Crossgates in the previous round. Swifts will be hoping to get something from the game at the Riverside

Gartcairn v Arthurlie. MTC park is where Billy Ogilvie will hope his Arthurlie fortunes will change, trying to get a win and resurrect a season to forget for the Barrhead side. Gartcairn go in confident  and with Davie Greig believing his side can get the all important win!.

Bellshill Athletic v Sauchie. Rockburn Park will host what will be an evenly contested match. Both teams will believe they have a good chance of winning and progressing to the next round.

Blackburn United v Linithgow Rose. Linlithgow will be hoping to continue a fine season with a win that will take them through to the fifth round of the cup. Be sure to keep an eye on Coyne and co.  at New Murrayfield Park
